In this report we highlighted and analysed all the factors essential for a start up. We considered market analysis, market strategy and costing, staffing and resourcing, and financial projections for the first 3 years of the business. In this reflective journal i have described objectively what happened, i tried to interpret the events explaining what i saw and heard, my insights, my connections with other learning, my hypotheses and my conclusions. Reflective writing therefore: records for future reading how you feel about an experience before, during and after the event provides a way of generalising feelings about specific events to similar events and situations allows you to relate your feelings and experiences to the perspectives of others enables you to stand back and evaluate your feelings. Many schools will recommend you use a reflective cycle such gibbs 1988 or kolb 1974. These are ways of organising your thoughts so you can critically analyse the event and your feelings into a coherent piece of writing. They can help you produce writing that is more analytical and that goes beyond descriptively recording what happened. And use that to make improvements, is a key part of university level thinking and work. You may need to describe the experience or summarise the reading, but this is not the reflection.
