Narrative Essays About Baseball TextBaseball may sound like a game where people stand around and wait for a ball to be hit, but thats not what baseball really is. Every player has been taught to have good work ethic, whether its in a weight room or even practices. Coaches have given leadership opportunities to players each year and this year its my turn because of my work ethic and my ability to lead a team. We would wake up early in the morning to work out and i hated it, but i did it to make myself better. We would work out until school started, and then after school we would get ready for an intense practice. They werent any better than we were and we knew we could beat them if we played hard. I was very enthusiastic and i tried to spread my energy to all my teammates and i think it really worked. Elmwood park was constantly getting hits and scoring runs, but luckily our team was doing the same when we got up to bat. This led to the top of the seventh inning and we were down two runs and we were batting. I kept on motivating all the players and i kept saying, we are not going to lose this game. I was still in the game and i had thrown about one hundred and thirty pitches which is a lot for a pitcher. Usually coaches take out their pitchers when they hit the one hundred pitch mark. I looked at him with astonishment and said, this game is there for me to finish no matter what. I wont let you down! he looked at my teammates for approval and they knew i wanted this with all my heart so they gave me the ok to pitch and coach let me go back on the field. I am an extremely competitive person probably the most competitive i know and i was pumped up. This time, i worked my way from being a back up catcher to the starting 3rd baseman in two weeks. But after going 0 2 in my first two at bats, my coach took me out of the starting line up. We later reached the championship game again, but we lost it for the second time. This time we were all determined to stay in the tournament and win the championship. We started off lousy, though, making four errors in the first game and losing 4 0. We did defeat every team we went up against, including the team that beat us the first game, and once again ended up in the championship game. But we then broke down and finally got out of the inning with only a two run deficit. I was ready to go ballistic, when something dawned on me: this had happened twice before, and i was still alive.
